I am interested in the potential for emotion and nuance within an aesthetically minimal context. Formal simplicity can evoke complexity and intimacy in experience.

Bio

Originally from the North Shore of Boston, MA, Jessica McCambly currently lives and works in Dallas, TX. She earned a B.F.A. and an M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from the University of North Texas, School of Visual Arts. Investigating ideas of connectivity and sentimentality via an abstracted vocabulary and minimal iconography, her large-scale works on paper have been featured locally in exhibitions at galleries such as Dunn and Brown Contemporary, And/ Or Gallery, Craighead- Green Gallery, 500X Gallery, Gallery 414 and Holly Johnson Gallery. McCambly’s work has also been featured at the Dallas Museum of Art in Continuum: The Art Ball 2007 and in the invitational exhibition titled Formica Formatted at The Dallas Contemporary. She has exhibited nationally at Kingston Gallery in Boston, MA and SoFa Gallery at Indiana University and internationally at the London Biennale.
