Statement

As the culture we share becomes an engine for disposability it creates refuse. The life cycle of goods in the marketplace begs intervention from aesthetics as reincarnation - after being sold and bought; goods and refuse alike should be recreated and returned to the cycle. Beauty and inspiration come from unexpected places – like candy wrappers on sidewalks. Print media and packaging from various cultures and eras, political propaganda, historical and scientific drawings, pop art, industrial design, and recycling are my influences; examining consumption, with the senses and with currency, of visual art as a unique commodity is my curiosity.
